Welcome to our pretty Alsatian cabin, in the centre of a small village in the Sundgau region (southern Alsace, pronounced [sou-nt-go]), halfway between the Alsatian vineyards, Germany and Switzerland. Our tiny house awaits you, with its wood-burning stove, terrace and wild pond, all surrounded by a magnificent one-hectare meadow to offer you a break from the hustle and bustle and let yourself be lulled by the gentle Alsatian way of life...
A self-sufficient, eco-responsible cabin
Experience living for a few days in our totally self-sufficient tiny house, with its solar panels and rainwater recovery tank. It has no impact on the environment, because it's on wheels and has no foundations, and waste water is evacuated via a micro purification station. It has been built using environmentally-friendly materials (wood from the Vosges, insulation made from recycled jeans, etc.) and decorated in a responsible, minimalist style. The meals served in the hut are home-cooked using seasonal and local produce (from our own garden whenever possible) and are as waste-free as possible.
The sweet life at the Cabane Pain d'Épices
Built by a Vosges company and designed by us as a refuge, the Pain d'Épices hut is a place for a cool holiday in the countryside. At our place, you can go cycling or horse-riding in the fields, take a siesta in a deckchair listening to the birds, swim in the ponds, feast on the organic fruit and vegetables from our garden, take a trip to Basel for a beer in a biergarten or drink a fine Alsatian wine on the terrace with that book you've been meaning to read for so long...
Hello, my name is Louise. My husband and I left Paris to return to our roots and settle in my beloved native region, Alsace ? I left my job in marketing in a big company, because I always had this idea in the back of my mind: to one day open a guesthouse... It took us more than a year and a half to find the house in Alsace that met all our criteria and could accommodate our project for a cabin at the back of our garden... After more than five years of dreaming about this project and two children later, we are so happy to welcome you to La Cabane Pain d'épices!
