C'est à la fin des années 80 qu'a été créé le Parc des Ballons des Vosges, qui se situe entre l'Alsace, la Lorraine et la Franche-Comté. Il s'étend sur différents départements qui sont le Haut-Rhin, la Haute-Saöne, les Vosges ainsi que le Territoire de Belfort. À l'est de la France, il s'agit de l'un des plus grands parcs de France, et on y apprécie son côté verdoyant et la douceur des sommets des Vosges bien sûr.
